When Dior brought back the Saddle bag last year (originally introduced by John Galliano in 1999), it quickly became the most popular women's product, according to the search engine Lyst at the time. To promote the launch, the brand flooded our Insta feeds with the bag, as seen on hundreds of influencers. It got results too – Lyst said that searches for the Dior Saddle bag increased by a whopping 957 per cent in just two days. This bodes well, then, for the new bag on the block – the 30 Montaigne bag, which looks set to be an instant classic.
The bag is part of the 30 Montaigne capsule collection, named after the location of Christian Dior in Paris, which is comprised of some of Dior's most iconic pieces. There's a Bar jacket, nodding to the New Look silhouette for which Christian Dior became so famous, as well as more contemporary pieces popularised by current designer Maria Grazia Chiuri, such as trainers and a slogan T-shirt.
Already, the bag has been spotted on the very influential likes of Susie Bubble, Lucy Williams, Camille Charriere and Chiara Ferragni.
With a starting price of £2,300, it's clearly one to save up for. But if you're looking to invest in a bag for life (quite literally) then it's wise to opt for something timeless – thanks to its roomy size and cross-body strap, that's exactly what the 30 Montaigne is.
