Back in November it was announced that model Daria Werbowy would take over from Miranda Kerr as the face of Mango, with her first campaign photographed by Josh Olins in Lanzarote. Now images of a wild-haired Daria have landed in our inbox. The campaign has a Spanish hippie vibe as Daria wears flowing fabrics, prints and embroidery, along with leather jackets and sweatshirts.
The 29-year-old joins a long list of stars who have posed for Mango including Kate Moss, Miranda Kerr, Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz, Diane Kruger, Milla Jovovich, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington and Olivia Palermo. An impressive alumni! It's interesting that this time around Mango have had a shift, choosing an established model rather than a high profile celebrity name.
Daria has one of the best portfolios in the business. Daria was signed at the age of 14 and since then has bagged campaigns with the likes of Prada, Missoni, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Lancome. It's pretty obvious why Mango picked Daria as their next face, but Ninona Vila, MNG by Mango’s public relations manager said: 'Beyond her impressive career, in which she has been the face of the best brands in fashion and cosmetics, Daria perfectly represents the values of Mango. Miranda Kerr modelled for the high street giant for two seasons, working sleek tailoring, boyfriend blazers and edgy fedoras. This is another of Miranda's fashion collabs to come to an end, as this year she stopped working with Victoria's Secret and David Jones.
