Cressida Bonas Gives A Masterclass In How To Pack For A Festival

Cressida's Masterclass In Festival Style

Cressida pulls it off. Again. Unlike the other fashionistas at Glastonbury this weekend, Cressida nailed the concept of packing light and that makes her the coolest cucumber at Worthy Farm in our books. She managed the whole weekend and several different outfit changes with fewer than 10 pieces (no mean feat. I mean, you need options, right? Think of the unpredictable weather).

Here’s how she did it, based on some pretty extensive stalking...

Friday – double denim

Cressida began the weekend wardrobe bonanza with a trusty pair of dungarees and a sleeveless denim shirt. She bucks the wellie trend - hallelujah! - with a pair of sturdy, mud-resistant Doc Martens: easily, the comfiest boots known to man. It's proven. We've done tests. Cressida accessorised with reflective shades, a headscarf and gold hoops, taking her from building site chic to the epitome of casual cool.

Saturday morning - The Co-ords

On Saturday Cressida let the pins loose in a teeny tiny Koro Kimono co-ords set for a summer-ready look. She teamed the rather sweet shorts and cropped shell top ensemble with a backwards cap and shades for a edgier take on the pretty co-ords. FYI, the Koro Kimono pattern - a mash up of stripes, orange spots and tweety birds - is so of the moment.

Saturday afternoon - The Co-ords 2.0

Now, this is where it gets clever. Cressida shrugged on a summer lifesaver - particularly for those of us prone to severe shoulder burn: the classic white shirt. She teams the outfit (which at this stage is verging on smart... At a festival?! Surely not) with the obligatory Hunter wellies and socks. Only with a few minor clothing tweaks, Cressida's look takes on a different, more nonchalant feel. Sort of, 'ohhh, this old thing, I just threw it on. It's my boyfriend's.' Bravo! Okay, she caved on the wellies, but we forgive her - this girl makes knee-high rubber look good.

Sunday – The ‘Pyjama Bottoms’

The Koro Kimono Tempest pattern gains second wind in trouser form for the last day of Glastonbury. Looking super comfy and stylish – and leaving her fashion disciples asking how the bloody hell she does it – Cressida teams the baggy trousers with a black beanie (for the festival hair hideaway), black utility boots and a black jacket plus hoodie.

The Koro Kimono co-ords went the distance at Worthy Farm this weekend, teaching us all a lesson in clever packing. The fewer clothes, the more room for make-up/tinnies/other festival essentials. It also eliminates at least 10 minutes of dicking about in a tent time in the morning. Cressida, we salute you.
