Colour Changing Dress Could Be A Game Changer

Imagine never having to worry about matching your accessories to your dress. Ever. Sounds like the ultimate fashionista dream doesn’t it? But this fantasy may soon be coming to a wardrobe near you. Australian women’s clothing brand, Showpo, have released an astonishing new Youtube video which purports to show a model wearing a colour-changing dress and we’re officially losing it.

The dress – which appears to be controlled by an app and changes its colour in just a few seconds – starts off as blue, then switches to pink and then purple whilst the model screams in disbelieve.

A spokeswoman for Showpo – a fashion brand for millennial women started by Jane Lu, an ex financial executive from KPMG – told Finder.com.au that the dress was created out of the brand’s love for wearable technology.

'Jane [Lu] has always wanted to be innovative and ahead of the game when it comes to technology.'

But the video – which has already garnished over 10,832 views – has not convinced everyone, with many YouTube comments suggesting the video is a hoax. Say it ain’t so! We were already half way through our victory dance. Showpo have done little to quell the rumours, offering no explanation of the science behind this magical garb.

‘so fake, if you really did create this tech why wouldn't you just explain it???’ reads one comment.

‘Impossible. Simply impossible’ said another commenter, who we imagine was wearing a Sherlock Holmes cap and smoking a pipe whilst typing this.

Looks like for now we’ll just have to settle for our mood rings and chameleon nail varnish sigh
