These Are The Only Coachella Street Style Shots You Need To See

It’s that time of year again when swarms of flower-crowned celebrities and PYTs flock to Indio, California to get that perfect Instagram beside a brand-sponsored pool party. It’s as always a full-on dance party (this time complete with a legendary Beyoncé set) but Coachellahas become as synonymous with fashion as music.

However, this year the quintessential Coachella look has - in this writer’s opinion - changed a great deal. Unlike other festivals, like Glastonbury for instance, warm weather, like Victoria’s Secret models dancing with plastic cups of warm rosé, is as dependable as waiting ages for a bus only for two to come at once. In the past, this meant that the ‘chella goer’s proverbial packing list included denim cut-offs, some flimsy crocheted-nod to bohemia masquerading as a bikini top and a misjudged culturally appropriative accessory. But, times have changed, and ‘woke’ has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary.

The first weekend of this year’s sun-drenched festival saw parties hosted by Nasty Gal, Revolve, Levi’s and Ugg take place as well as the announcement of the upcoming Moschino [tv] H&M collaboration. In keeping, there was as much #spon #ad content flying through the Instagram ether as there were blurry videos of Queen Bey’s set. That said, this did nothing to damage the calibre of Coachella looks on display. If anything, it can be thanked for the host of famous bod’s taking more care not to offend with their curious sartorial choices (read: PC-fashion is in, Henna and Native American headdresses worn by white chicks are out).

Bella Hadid gave free lessons in how to wear a body chain, Taylor Hill demonstrated how to wear cowboy boots in 2018 and Leomie Anderson came out as a stan for Von Dutch.
