Well it was only a matter of time: Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber has signed a contract with IMG Models.
IMG broke the news by sharing a black and white shot from Kaia’s recent Vogue Italia shoot, exclaiming “Now recruiting @Kaia Gerber! Welcome to the family!”
Kaia was then fast to reciprocate with a second shot from the mag spread, captioned “UNREAL!” Her mum then followed suit joking: "Guess I better watch my back...Love this shot of @KaiaGerber by #StevenMeisel for @VogueItalia!”
She may only be 13, but Cindy’s mini me already has an impressive number of modelling gigs to fill her CV. As well as her first Vogue Italia spread, she posed for Versace Junior aged just 10 and appeared on Teen Vogue last year. And the likeness to her supermodel mum is getting stronger by the day.
In her* Teen Vogue* magazine interview for the December/January issue she said she’s already started auditioning for Hollywood roles. "I like to explore beyond who I am so I can feel for other people," she explained. ”When you become someone else, you better understand others."
Kaia may be a few years off runway age, but she’ll certainly have had plenty of practice by the time the Fashion Week casting invites come rolling in. This little lady looks set to give the new supermodel set a serious run for their money, and it sounds like Hollywood’s Brat Pack should watch out, too!
