The 80s is still seen as the 'glory days of modelling' - the age when the supermodel was born. They went from unknown faces to unstoppable personalities, covering all the magazines, starring in music videos and even launching their own 'Fashion cafe.'
But in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Cindy Crawford has admitted that she is a little envious of Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, as they are able to have control of their image.
She said: 'I'm a little bit jealous that they have social media. I think that through the use of social media, they are better able to shape their own image. I think my generation of models, we were perceived the way we were, you know, through our pictures.'
She added: 'On social media you can create or just illuminate your own image, and I think some of the young models are really good at it.'
She said of ageing in the industry: 'Having been a model now for more than 30 years and dependent on my looks for my work, seeing those changes (as I age) might even be a little bit harder for me. At times the pressure to live up to the fashion industry's expectations feels overwhelming. I can still pull off a miniskirt and 5 inch heels on set - but probably not in real life.'
Well Cindy, we think you're good at Instagram too.
