When it comes to Christmas decorations, people have very strong opinions on taste – namely what is chic and what isn’t (tinsel, for example, is perennially lambasted for being very unchic). So, who better to trade Christmas tree decoration tips with than the fashion set?

Over on Instagram stories, we’ve spotted several well-heeled fashion editors decorating their tree with one very specific bauble – a design by esteemed artist Luke Edward Hall. The art world wunderkind – who is still under 30 – has designed an exclusive hand-painted ceramic bauble for the Alex Eagle store on Lexington Street in London, featuring his signature Greco-Roman faces etched in green, red and blue.

Hall rose to fame thanks to Instagram, with his recent work including a pop-up at Bicester Village, designs for Burberry and curating an exhibition of contemporary artists at Christie’s. It’s not the first time that he’s collaborated with Eagle – a creative director and designer in her own right, who created Soho Farmhouse’s on-site shop, The Store – as he’s previously designed a series of plates and platters for her, too. Indeed, her patronage has considerable kudos in the fashion world, which is no doubt why so many editors are snapping up his baubles.

Hall writes on his Instagram that he has hand-painted 30 of the coveted baubles, and according to Eagle’s post, there are still some of them left in store – so get down there quick-smart to snap them up!
