Whether or not you've tuned into Selling Sunset, you must have heard the name Christine Quinn. And now the panto villain of the real estate world has just received the ultimate fashion call-up: a front row seat next to Anna Wintour.
Over the weekend, Balenciaga staged its latest show on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange, with a guest list that included Ye, Marc Jacobs, Euphoria's Alexie Demie, the newly-married Chloë Sevigny - and, of course, Quinn, who quite frankly stole the stow in a skin-tight black bodysuit that was fashion with a capital F.
As industry insiders will have already noted, this marks something of a turning point for Quinn. Balenciaga is one of the coolest and most influential brands on earth (according to The Lyst Index, in fact, it's officially been the hottest label for three consecutive quarters). Don't forget that one of its most dedicated followers and wearers is Kim Kardashian; the ultimate example of how to leverage a career as a reality star into the kind of super-fame that lands you on the cover of Vogue (multiple times).
Then again, Quinn doesn't seem like the type to copy someone else's path to the big leagues when it comes to fashion. So perhaps there's another explanation. One could be the fact that Balenciaga, which is owned by Kering, has just announced that it will be accepting cryptocurrency payments in the US.
Quinn, meanwhile, has just launched Real Open, whose homepage reads, 'Buy any home with crypto.' Could there be some sort of link? Or does Demna, the creative director of Balenciaga, just have an excellent radar when it comes to future fashion stars? If her after-party look is anything to by, he's backed a winner.
