The great and good from the world of fashion are coming together once again in aid of Women for Women International, a charity which helps female survivors of war to rebuild their lives.
Now in its third year, the annual #SheInspiresMe Car Boot managed to raise an phenomenal £159,000 last time, by selling pre-loved designer clothes, shoes and accessories, with previous shoppers including Lily Cole, Jasmine Guinness, and both Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley.
Taking up residence in the heart of Soho and setting up smart stalls in former fashion week venue The Brewer Street Carpark on Saturday 12th May, what is almost certainly the world’s most fashionable car boot sale has an even more impressive lineup of sellers this spring. Stylish stalls announced so far include luxury discount-E-tailer The Outnet, footwear designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal, Temperley London, LFW’s Edeline Lee, designer resale site Vestiaire Collective, Danish denim brand M.i.h Jeans, not to mention the fashion powerhouses from the British Fashion Council.
With more yet to come, keep an eye out for further announcements.
And its not just a day for fashionistas. There’ll be plenty there for beauty aficionados too with Blink Brow Bar, Charlotte Tilbury, Elemis, Le Salon and Nailberry, Sassoon and The Braid Bar all due to set up stalls.
Meanwhile, in response to how popular the previous two car boot sales were, 2018’s offering promises to be bigger and better than ever before, as the event increases in capacity in order to accommodate even more stalls, and crucially , more eagle-eyed, sharp-elbowed shoppers.
And because bargain hunting can be hungry work, CRU Kafe, Glitter and Gut Health, Lerato Umah-Shaylor and The Store will all be on hand to provide refreshments, with the proceeds also going towards Women for Women International. Designer shopping and having that second slice of cake has never felt so virtuous.
