New York Fashion Week kicked off the month-long circus of fashion weeks last week. New Yorkers have their own approach to street style - somewhere between the directional edge of London, the pared-back polish of Paris - while the runways are filled with designers' visions of autumn/winter 2023. And on the front row? A whole load of celebrities.
Over the weekend, Sienna Miller appeared with her daughter, Marlowe Sturridge, on the front row at Proenza Schouler. Not content with being invited to one of the calendar's coolest shows, Marlowe also got to sit next to Anna Wintour. No biggie. For Rodarte, a whole bevy of bright young things - Alexa Chung, Beanie Feldstein, Natasha Lyonne, Quinta Brunson and Oscar-winner Brie Larson - decamped to Williamsburg, where they changed into slinky slip dresses to watch the proceedings.
At Christian Siriano, which kicked off the festivities last Thursday, two of our favourite movie stars from the '00s - Julia Stiles and Lindsay Lohan - sat front row with Quinta Brunson. If you used to rent 10 Things I Hate About You, along with Mean Girls, on repeat from Blockbuster - this was kind of an exciting moment.
