Not a single fashion week will pass without the predictable fanfare around who was sat next to who on which celebrity clad front row. And while the usual famous faces can be counted on to make appearances, the AW18 shows have been well and truly owned bybreakout rap queen Cardi B and we’re 100 percent here for it.
The picture at the forefront of everyone’s minds is the one of Cardi sat next to Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour at the Alexander Wang show. It’s a moment that almost caused the internet to implode. It’s a moment that should go down in fashion week front row history. We’ll be hear waiting for a word-for-word transcript of what they spoke about.
Cardi was also spotted front row at Christian Sirano’s show and quickly became the only person alive able to convince me that I need a green trouser suit in my life. The white fur and insane bejeweled manicure wouldn’t go a miss either.
At Jeremy Scott’s AW18 show Cardi joined Jasmine Sanders and Kehlani on the front row and looked pure fire in an oversized black fur and knee length white boots.
And then there was also Prabal Gurung, which was the first show that Cardi attended with with her fiancé Offset, who DGAF and sparked up to smoke in the middle of the show, but we’ll breeze past that. No one really noticed. Except for all those people with cameras...
Nevertheless, all eyes have repeatedly been on Cardi who has been rocking around the big apple serving all the lewks. And yes, she looks incredible right now, but this is not just a moment, you guys. This is Cardi B's long awaited and well deserved initiation into the cross-industry big leagues. We may have sensed her greatness in the early Bodak Yellow days, but it seems the fashion powers that be have finally caught on.
Red bottomed bloody shoes isn't the only connection the world will be making between Cardi and fashion. Nuh, uh. We're here for Cardi the muse. Long may her fashion week slay game be inspiration to us all.
