Way back in May Cara Delevingne introduced us to the new love of her life Cecil - a pocket-sized rabbit who has not left her side since. He became an instagram celebrity overnight, with 107,000 fans and counting. And even got his own rabbit nanny, such was the gruelling schedule his mum's been on recently.

But until now we'd never quite known how Cecil and Cara came to meet. The answer, it seems is Topshop. The mega high street brand isn't the best known matchmaker (though lord knows we've fallen in love with a few pairs of trousers in there in our time) but when they booked the rabbit as a fun accessory for Cara's first shoot for their new AW14 campaign a beautiful romance began.

We GIFed the moments as they unfolded. Just, well, because:

'Can I keep it?' asked Cara of the humble bunny, which as originally just an on-set prop.

'He goes so well with my faux furry coat, you see...' she pointed out to the Topshop staffers. Before plopping Cecil on her head as if to prove their connection.

Anyone on set could see that the bond between Cara and Cecil was strong. So there was only ever one way this was going to go...

Yes! Cara got to keep him. Did a dance in that parka coat (ps: where can we get a hold of that one?) and an modern day fashion love affair was born. No wonder the hashtag for the video is #ilovetopshop

See true love blossom in the full video - and whilst you're at it check out some of the new season Topshop clothes Cara's modelling too. Shot by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Creative Director and Vogue fashion editor Kate Phelan, the high end campaign will basically make you want a pair of PVC pants, that white badass glam-rock dress and a slouchy parka (again, can we mention this again?) as much as you do a kiss from Cecil.
