Fashion East, an initiative that supports emerging designers with the aid of sponsorship from Topshop has had a hand in launching careers of London's best biggies: Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicoll and House of Holland to name but a few, so its London Fashion Week show is without doubt the one to watch if you want to know who'll be making ripples in your wardrobe next.

Controversial as the clothes can be at Fashion East, it wasn't designs that hit headlines when the show took place at London Fashion Week today. Halfway through the show a man, who was thought to be working on scaffolding next to the building where the show was being held, fell through roof-tiles into the backstage area, to the shock of every watching. He was treated by ambulance crew at the scene before show staff realised there would be any need to stop proceedings, before being taken to hospital, according to a spokesperson from Topshop.

And so the show went on. Here's what you need to know about the names to emerge from the legendary Fashion East cocoon this season. Hint: if they don't make you want to throw on a load of sporty garb and go raving, they will have you reaching for some glam-rock glad-rags.

Who: CSM graduate whose AW14 debut of fuzzy knitwear and cute skirts is already being stocked in cool-Mecca Opening Ceremony.

Why you're gonna love her SS15 collection: she mixes sporty styles - racer-backs, ribbing - with the laid-back looseness that made us love Chloe so much in its smock dress phase, so it's not too cute, but not too boyish. Light denim and tonal peachy layers kept up the dreamy vibe while the odd piece in black and navy kept it from being too sickly. Best styled on the baddest girl in a Leith Clarke short film for Lula.

Louise Alsop

Who: A Fashion East veteran after she launched her Tomboyish debut at last season's show after graduating from University of Westminster.

Why you're gonna love her SS15 collection: Do you like raving? GOOD. DIY print t-shirts, Punkyfish-worthy cutaways on all sorts of danceable jersey lightweight mesh galore will be right up your street. The neon colour palette and cartoon-like prints will be exactly what you want to wear in the dance tent at Glastonbury next summer.

Ed Marler

Who: Fresh out of graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2013, his dramatic creations can already count M.I.A and stylist Katie Grand as fans. He's heading straight into London Fashion Week at the deep end, debuting with this Fashion East show.

Why you're gonna love his SS15 collection: If you're a fan of the louche and loud creations we know and love the likes of Dolce & Gabbana and John Galliano for, then you're going to love this. It was big, it was lacy and it had the rock'n'roll edge of a dirty party at New York's Chelsea hotel thanks to torn Union Jack trousers and Jimi Hendrix paisley. Plus, there were some gold flares, and trust us, 70s glam is having its moment.
