Caitlyn Jenner has just been announced as the new face of H&M’s sportswear line.

The Olympic gold medallist and reality star took to Instagram to share the news with her followers, posting a picture taken behind the scenes on her new campaign captioned: ‘Backstage with @hm. Can’t wait to show you more of this inspiring and amazing campaign! #StayTuned #HMSport’

The teaser image shows the 66-year-old star all in black, modelling leggings, a zip-up sports top with detailing on the sleeves and black trainers.

As a H&M campaign model, Caitlyn follows in the footsteps of stars like Beyoncé and her own daughter Kendall, who was one of the faces of the high street brand’s hugely successful collaboration with French fashion house Balmain.

In recent seasons, the high street brand has placed a strong emphasis on diversity in its fashion campaigns, casting transgender models Hari Nef and Andreja Pejic to walk in the H&M Studio show at Paris Fashion Week.

The news of Caitlyn's latest campaign comes just weeks after the star announced her new collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, also via Instagram. Jenner has created an exclusive shade of lipstick, 'Finally Free,' which will be released on April 7th, with all proceeds donated to MAC's AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative.
