Remember when mules were, uhm, really awful? One member of The Debrief team who shall not be named had a denim pair, with multi-coloured fringing on the toe. That tells you all you need to know. Then someone came along and told us they were sexy. Who was it? Because now they're everywhere. They're on the shelves of Zara and Office, on the catwalk for H&M's AW14 show and on the well shod feet of many a streetstyler.

Open toe or closed toe, that SATC favourite is back. Which, in a way, isn't a surprise - the '90s are ubiquitous right now, after all.

One of the best pairs we can find is these Hobbs Mules, £92.98 by Jeffrey Campbell at Nasty Gal. They're super slick and shiny, with a comfortable 2.5 inch block heel and a cushioned leather interior. Cushioned! Like a really nice car! Or yeah, just shoes. Buy 'em. Wear 'em. You know the drill.
