There was a Brit invasion of epic proportions in LA last night, as Burberry’s ‘London in Los Angeles’ show was staged at the beautiful Griffith Observatory. Like all things Burberry, the event was like nothing before.
Brit favourite Jourdan Dunn took to the catwalk alongside Naomi Campbell, Sam Rollinson, Charlotte Wiggins, Malaika Firth, Ella Richards, Amber Anderson and more, to show off Burberry’s Autumn/Winter 2015 collection. The womenswear, that was debuted during London Fashion WEEK, boasted a mix of paisley and bohemian prints, patchwork, and animal and camouflage printed lace.
The show closed with models storming the catwalk in floor-length tulle dresses with cut-out waistcoats and silk thread embroidery, but they weren’t alone. The models shared the runway with 19 First Battalion Grendadier Guards in all their red coat and fluffy hat finery, performing with drums and flutes. The finale had even more surprises in store, with, err, James Corden popping up on the catwalk.
The Brits were well and truly out in force, with 700 guests in attendance at the show, including the likes of Cara Delevingne, Elton John, Tom Felton, Ellie Goulding, Suki Waterhouse and, of course, all of the Beckhams. Harper looked especially cute sat on the FROW in a trench coat with her Dad, David. Others in attendance included Mila Kunis, Ryan Seacrest and Anna Wintour (obvs). Brooklyn Beckham was busy getting snap happy backstage, posting selfies with Cara Delevingne, Elton John and Kevin, the creator of Instagram. Burberry brought the best of the British music to LA too, flying Tom Odell and George Ezra out to America to perform.
The show was hosted by Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer. "Tonight we were proud to celebrate fashion, music and Britishness at the iconic Griffith Observatory,” he said “It was a privilege to be here with so many friends in such a wonderful city and the home of our new Rodeo Drive store."
