He’s snapped everyone from Kate Moss to David Bowie. Shot Cara Delevingne before she was a model. Has worked on campaigns for the likes of Versace and Calvin Klein. Oh, and was nominated for an Oscar for his documentary about Jazz musician Chet Baker. Over the course of his career - spanning nearly five decades - Bruce Weber’s iconic images stand the test of time and have had a pervasive impact on the global fashion industry.

And it’s now been revealed the acclaimed US photographer and filmmaker will be honoured with the prestigious Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at The Fashion Awards in December.

Previous winners of the award have included; Nick Knight OBE (2015), Edward Enninful OBE (2014), Lady Amanda Harlech (2013) and Professor Louise Wilson OBE (2012).

‘Bruce’s endurance is testament to his pure talent, his undeniable creativity and his singular warmth and generosity His expansive body of work in photography and film is iconic, and he himself is rightly an icon of the creative fashion community,’ Dame Natalie Massenet, British Fashion Council Chairman commented. ‘He is one of the foremost photographers and creative talents of our age who has helped shape the fashion industry we know today and I have a great deal of admiration for him.’

Now 70-years-old, Bruce Weber’s signature black and white photographs deliver a timeless, sometimes risqué quality. His source of creativity may come as a surprise to some though. ‘I would say that my dogs — I have six golden retrievers — are a constant inspiration to me,’ he told TIME magazine.

‘The way they see the world and the way they are with people, their openness, I always want to try to have that when I take pictures or when I don’t.’
