We did the high street hunting for you.

Ooooooh accessories, those glitzy little bubbles that take your outfit from zero to hero. Understandably, the most covetable come with a blinding price tag, but if you're after a quick seasonal fix, it should be possible to do it without breaking the bank. She says. Consider the challenge accepted.

I searched the high street (virtually and physically) and found it's easy to binge this season on the bling. Whether you like simple, architectural pieces that call to mind Céline or more statement skinny seventies scarves, the shops have got your back. Sure we had to hunt around - a lot - but it was worth it, see what we found for yourself...

1. One Earring To Rule Them All

Maria Black, Silver Phoenix Earring, £65, Liberty London

No longer an awkward eighties throwback, the single earring makes a chic statement. Maria Black's diminutive design balances an ensō-shaped hoop from two small orbs. It's an artful everyday piece that will sit well with any outfit.

2. Skinny Dipping

Rockins, Guinea Blow Up Super Skinny Scarf, £85, Liberty London; Yasmin Everley, Little Spider Ring, £40, Joy Everley; Yasmin Everley, Little Fly Ring, £39, Joy Everley

I'm obsessed with skinny scarfs, not least because they are deceptively versatile. Twisted round the neck once and knotted they give off a Mick Jagger air, but twirled multiple times they have have the chic elegance of a Chanel-clad, Parisian. Bonus points for Rockins as theirs come in high-impact hues that instantly lift my outift out of the doldrums.

3. Gold Digger

Cos, Layered Pendant Necklace, £17

Like with all accessories, the ebb and flow of fashion dictates the length, look and weight of necklaces. While chokers may be hot one minute they are just as easily discarded the next, so consider something timeless and architectural like a golden pendant. That said, I twisted the chain twice around my next, because as trends dictate, the choker is still very much having a moment.

4. Get A Handle On It

Cos, Round Suede Purse, £25

Not maroon, or Bordeaux, this shade is oxblood. It's fierce and powerful and the colour of sacrifice and wine. It's tougher than scarlet and more savage that berry, it yearns to be mixed with equally dark and moody hues.

5. Rose Tinted Vision

ASOS, Rimless Aviator Sunglasses With Pink Coloured Lens, £12; Nixon, Small Time Teller Rose Gold Dial Watch, £85, Liberty London; Monica Vinader, Gold-Plated Orange Carnelian Siren Small Stacking Ring, £75; Cos, Metal Bangle, £25

Want to know how to wear pink like a grown-up? Rose gold. It's got a metallic glitz that will satisfy magpies (like me) and it has the trend appeal of blorange (the hottest hair colour to have, supposedly). It's a delicate, princessy shade but when layered up it lends a warm glint that cold gold won't give you.

6. Hold Tight

ASOS, Grunge Leather Cross Body Bag, £30; Yasmin Everley, Little Spider Ring, £40, Joy Everley; Yasmin Everley, Little Fly Ring, £39, Joy Everley

It may be a little early to think about festivals, but just in case it's not this Cowgirl cross-body should be top of your shopping list. This buckaroo bag has a satisfyingly long strap and more hardware than B&Q. John Wayne, eat your heart out!

  1. Star-Crossed

Yasmin Everley, Aquarius Silver Astrology Necklace, £59, Joy Everley

If you haven't heard of Yasmin Everley, now is the time to sit up and listen. She's a 27-year-old independent jeweller on the rise. After studying the Classics she's created a range of astrological accessories. While I'm 99% convinced horoscopes are BS, that 1% means I still religiously read mine and with this simple, quirky constellation necklace I can be constantly guided by the stars.
