Beyoncé has finally released details of her new activewear fashion line, including the brand name, Ivy Park.
The athleisure label, which is a joint venture between the singer and Sir Philip Green, will be available at retailers including Topshop, Net-a-Porter and Selfridges. The Ivy Park S/S'16 collection will launch on 14th April.
Beyoncé announced the news with an Instagram post in which she models a bodysuit emblazoned with the brand name.
In a statement, she said: 'Sir Philip has created some amazing collaborations but I wanted a partnership and a standalone brand.'
'When I'm working and rehearsing I live in my workout clothes, but I didn't feel there was an athletic brand that spoke to me. My goal with Ivy Park is to push the boundaries of athletic wear and to support and inspire women who understand that beauty is more than your physical appearance.'
As well as the Instagram announcement, an introductory video has also been posted to the brand's new Youtube channel, in which Beyoncé speaks about her personal experiences with fitness. 'I would wake up in the morning and my dad would come knocking at my door, and tell me it's time to go running [...] I remember wanting to stop, but I would push myself to keep going.'
She added 'There are things I'm still afraid of. When I have to conquer those things, I still go back to that park. Before I hit the stage, I go back to that park. When it was time for me to give birth, I went back to that park. The park became a state of mind. The park became my strength. The park is what made me who I am.'
Will an album drop follow Beyoncé's surprise announcement? Here's hoping...
