Workwear, like its moniker, often involves a lot of hard labour and research. No one wants to be reported to HR for indecent exposure, but on the flip side, no one wants to go to work looking like their worst. You want to arrive to at your Monday morning meeting with the ‘Listen to my ramblings about data, for I am very important!’ confidence, while remaining approachable enough so people want to amble to Pret with you at lunchtime. Here are all the best stuff to wear to work from chic Scandi brand Kitri, that is also office-appropriate.
1. Sleeves Sharper Than Carol Vorderman At A Pub Quiz
Perfect for what Grazia magazine dubbed ‘Sautumn’ (that’s a summer-y autumn, FYI). Sleeves so brazenly fluted, you’d have Steve from marketing’s eye out, yet still adhering to the office dress code. Tick! Tick! Tick! Now all you need is Chris from Love Island feeding you dark chocolate truffles and to sort out your tax form.
Also, this would definitely look nicer on you, because you could wear some dead-cute mules instead of a NHS-issued foot cast.
2. Pinafore Galore
You know those times you decide to go for 'one drink after work' and it turns into a sloshy pub bender in which you tell the guy from accounts you've always fancied him (you don't), spend your entire paycheck on an Uber ('I SAID CLAPHAM NOT CAMDEN') and wake up with a slice of pizza on your cheek? Well, here is the perfect pinafore for that. You can put any plain top underneath and it makes you look like you have made an effort. Whip the top off if you fancy a round two.
3. Scandi warrior
Clean, no frills and makes me look like a Roman goddess who's having a mini break in Copenhagen. If your foot isn't broken, you could definitely wear yours with some dainty sandals and get scouted by Storm Models ... (I'm jealous.)
4. Bardot Babe
Nothing like a bit of shoulder to show your colleagues you're edgy AF. Just team with pinstripe trousers for a little executive realness (and to help you hustle for that much-needed pay rise).
5. Check M8
This is a good Friday ensemble for when you want to appear fun, but not too fun. Though I was initially hesitant (the maxi-dress trend is stressful for my usual tomboy aesthetic) it turns out this dress is incredibly flattering and feels expensive.
Remember: It will look nicer on you BECAUSE YOU CAN WEAR NORMAL SHOES.
