Cocktails or prosecco? A pea coat or a trench? LFW or NYFW? Sometimes, there are no wrong answers, so why not have both? London Fashion Week and New York Fashion Weeks were both flawlessly bold and gave us some serious style #inspo for A/W 2016. Here at Grazia, we had our eyes glued to our phones, scrolling through each new collection, with our attention being diverted only by the street-style and FROW action. But which Fashion week had the best designers? Which city hosted the best shows? We’ve teamed up with Lola and Grace to help you decide… (While we’ve also had a fulfilling dose of some much-needed jewellery #inspo.)
Drama
Always hotly-anticipated, always a knockout. Our beloved Burberry just can’t do wrong. This LFW, they delivered ruffles and bold patterns in a dramatic Elizabethan-theme, (with a slight tom-boy edge.) Our style favs, Cara Delevingne, Felecity Jones and Freida Pinto sprinkled the front row, while here at Grazia, we were all about this metallic, tapestry-inspired number which set fire to the runway, giving us some regal-styled jewellery inspiration for the autumn season. Invest in these period-style pieces from Lola and Grace for a true Elizabethan-look. Pair the earrings with a fitted white blouse and bold patterned skirt, and you’ll be ready for any occasion.
Sparkle And Shine
Marc Jacobs’ NYFW show was lit up, literally. Rave music was pumping as thousands of lightbulbs decorated the runway. There was plenty of sparkle and shine worn by the models, who also donned pastel dreadlocks and candy-coloured platforms. There was no shortage on colour and embellishment. We took some fabulous #inspo from the whacky colours and lights, so you can count on us donning these gorgeous coloured gems from Lola and Grace with the boldest and brightest outfits in our wardrobes.
Feminine Fairy-tale
Simone Rocha made our hearts melt with her feminine fairy-tale meets country goddess collection. White dresses with a vibrant mix of dreamy materials and puffed sleeves debuted down the in the aisle of Southwark Cathedral at LFW. We were seriously feeling the fairy-tale vibes, taking inspiration for some beautiful and delicate feminine pieces for the season ahead. These dainty jewels from Lola and Grace will perfectly compliment the new flowy dress you want to show off for autumn.
Whimsical Layering
Rodarte pulled off some fantastic boho/hippy vibes at NYFW with a nod to 70s and 80s fashion. Designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy supplied plenty of sequins and lace to give their pieces a perfect layered effect. The whole thing said whimsical. Stack on these flawless Lola and Grace rings to compliment your autumn layered look. Boots and 70’s dresses were just made to go with a stack of glamorous rings.
