Now that the temperatures are finally above freezing, doesn’t it seem like the perfect time for the aviator jacket to make a comeback? The street-stylers at Copenhagen Fashion Week, which has been on this week, certainly seem to think so.

They've been wearing their beaten-up versions with all kinds of cool-girl combinations. One model paired hers, which looked like it must be vintage gem, with a chunky knit and cowboy boots. Another women wore a cropped version with baggy jeans and backless loafers, a perfectly balanced look that she topped off with a baseball cap. In the land of A-listers, one aviator-adjacent jacket has been getting plenty of air-time. Both Laura Harrier and Hilary Duff, who has proved that she's well-versed in statement outerwear on the promo trail for How I Met Your Father, have worn the shearling jacket from Khaite (Laura choose leather, Hilary chose corduroy).

And remember: you don't have to restrict these trophy jackets to daylight hours only. RiRi has worn hers on a night out, teaming it with spiky heels. Consider it a hardworking high/low wardrobe hero that can be dressed up or down as you wish. Yes, obviously it’s a great way to luxe up loungewear and denim (and, at this point, sweet relief from a puffer) – but it also toughens up dressier and more daring pieces. Cosy and cool at once, the aviator jacket might just be the perfect choice for now.
