Last year I would have laughed at the notion of wearing a baker boy hat (otherwise known as a newsboy cap or some other ludicrously job-specific name). Back then, I would have said these little cute captain-style caps were the refrain of 1960s supermodels with dainty features and Suki Waterhouse. But, then Gigi and Bella Hadid started wearing them and I did some Pinterest research and found pictures of a sultry Françoise Hardy bedecked in a baker boy cap. And, guess what, they didn’t look like they were in fancy dress! In fact, they looked effortless and cool. Fast-forward a few months and the high street has clocked on that this is a burgeoning cool trend and kindly made reasonably priced options to pick from. For less than a Pizza Express dinner, you can try the trend and toss it aside next month when you’re over it. Or, you can invest in a more expensive style and wear yours like Kate Moss, i.e. eternally.
