Anything that gets the fashion lot out of bed on the last day of fashion week at 9am has to be a good thing. And this morning Ashley Williams – the young Brit designer famed for having fun with fashion – did just that.
A sleepy crowd cradling paper coffee cups trudged in to watch the show, but when the kick-ass, rocky show tunes got going, and the models walked out – complete with bad ass attitude – we were all wide awake and loving life as a girl.
**Here’s your need to know on the show: **
Alexa and Pixie sat frow
Standardly looking well fit (even at 9am), and having a good ol’ giggle – reminding us that bessie mates are ace – Pixie and designer Ashley also run the very good Funky Offish instagram feed together. God, girls are great. They were randomly joined on the frow by a man in a paper crown (think Burger King) and on his laptop. Enough said on that.
Georgia May Jagger opened the show
And killed it. Obviously. Looking super fly in a black logo emblazed mini dress. Alice Dellal also walked in an ace little one-strap white dress that reminded us of everything we ever wanted to be aged 14 (read: still want to be).
The clothes were hot sass x Kurt grunge
Otherwise known as the ideal mix. Think pink fluff and black hoodies, black PVC and cropped knits, sheer skirts with slogan printed tees. In short, they had it all.
Immy Waterhouse walked for the first time
Well, she’s probably been walking since she was a toddler but this was Immy’s (Suki’s baby sister) first show since she signed to Next Model Management earlier this year. Obviously she bossed it. And looked fab with her slicked back hair and ‘last chance to escape’ sweatshirt.
**The make-up reminded us of that Britney line ‘I’m not a girl, not yet a woman’ **
Lips were mega dark, super vampy – very woman – while the eyes were pink glittery and totally girly. All done by those pros at MAC.
