The Ashish Show Had Light Up Trainers. And They Were Buffalos.

And now he's reminded us about all those fugly shoes of the early noughties that bought us so much joy.

Remember light-up trainers? The ones your mum probably didn't let you wear? (Unless you were jammy old Victoria from Year 5, who also got a trip to Disney World Florida you still remain jealous of). Well, they're back! And they're on Buffalos! Ashish just showed them on his catwalk at London Fashion Week. And now you're an adult and have your own money and stuff, there's NOTHING your mum can say if you want to buy a pair.

And light-up trainers weren't the only cult-piece on disco designer Ashish Gupta's catwalk. His A/W14 show featured a typical slew of technicolour sequins, tiaras, tulle dresses, the multi-coloured model Chloe Norgaard – AND a sequin- embellished sweater spelling out 'Love Will Win' as a witty little message to Russia at the end.

Lily Allen – on the front row, alongside drag queen Jodie Harsh – even went to sleep with a pair nestled next to her milky little face. 'Night night dream shoes' she Tweeted. 'I hope you are still real tomorrow.'

We've got to admit, we're not totally sold on Buffalos again, but we are definitely getting excited about the ability to spontaenously create our own dance floor any time, any place. Come on Nike et al, what are you waiting for?
