In the style of Lily Allen, and Princess Beatrice, Ariana Grande side-stepped the blowout wedding (hundreds of guests, magazine spreads, several outfit changes, you know the drill) for an intimate ceremony last week held at her home in Montecito, California.
Sharing snapshots from the day on Instagram, the bride and groom, Dalton Gomez, looked swept off their feet with happiness, quite literally in the case of the former in one photograph. Grande turned to one of her favourite dress-makers, the gold-standard when it comes to fairytale wedding gowns, Vera Wang, who created a column-style dress with a scooped back and sweetheart neckline.
Her signature swept-back ponytail was accessorised with bow, which fashion insiders were quick to compare to Audrey Hepburn's. None of her actual weddings, mind you, but a fictional one in Funny Face, where she's seen wearing a similarly short veil crowned with a little tied ribbon.
This isn't the first time that a modern bride has borrowed from Hepburn. Zoë Kravitz's wedding dress had the same boat-shaped neckline, flared skirt and cropped length as the one in the film, which was designed by Hubert de Givenchy.
It would not be a surprise if, thanks to Grande and Kravitz, the 1957 film now provides wedding dress inspiration for a whole new generation of brides.
