Always thought that the idea of injecting toxins into your face to avoid wrinkles was a bit mad? Well the world has become just a little bit madder, as a trend for calves botox has sprung up.
For around £300, you can now have your calves injected with botox to slim them down and shimmy into those knee high boots that are all the rage this season. It's possible to lose around 2cm on each calf (no, didn't sound like all that much to us, either) but it's also possible to suffer muscle wasting, heart problems, and excessive strain on your knees, hips and back thanks to the treatment.
The procedure works by effectively weakening the muscle, preventing it from being able to contract, all for the sake of 20mm. Even after women have had the treatment, and stuffed their calves into boots that are way too small, sadly the look isn't so hot - as most people's knees spill over the tops of the skinnier boots.
While we feel for any woman who has bits of her body she ain't so keen on (so that's all of us, then) we reckon we have a better solution for wearing stylish winter boots than injecting your legs with poison.
