The 'Kim Kardashian' of China aka actress, model and singer Angela Yeung, or "Angelababy" got married earlier this month to actor Huang Xiaoming - and the wedding cost a whopping $31 million, according to Forbes.
To put that into perspective - Kim and Kanye shelled out $12 million on their nuptials, and the royal wedding of Kate and William cost $34 million. So when you're making Kimye look like relative peasants on the wedding front, you know you're going big.
Tying the knot at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, the couple filled their wedding venue with roses, there was a 10 foot-tall wedding cake shaped like a carousel, a 2,000-strong guest list and gift bags containing cell phones.
The ceremony was also streamed online - meaning viewers could catch a glimpse on the holographic castle on display as the famous pair got married. Oh and before all this, the couple did a pre-wedding shoot outside the Eiffel Tower.
On to the dress. Angelababy had Elie Saab couture gowns for her pre-wedding shoot in Paris. But on the day itself, she donned a custom-made Dior gown that took five months to create and featured nearly 100 hand-cute rose bouquets made of Chantilly lace, alongside a 10-foot train.
And the ring? a $1.5 million sparkler designed by Chaumet with a five-carat pear-shaped diamond. It's the fashion equivalent of 'go hard or go home'.
It's an exercise in excess, yes - and there's not doubt this kind of showy display may not be to everyone's taste. But the photos of the pair's big day and online video certainly offer a fascinating glimpse into the way to rich and famous tie the knot these days if they REALLY go for it.
