When Alexa Chung's first collection for AG dropped there was a shopping stampede, so naturally she's back with a second installment. While the first collection tapped into the Spring Summer trend for Seventies denim, her Autumn Winter line focuses on a more dressy approach to 70s styling.
On top of the button-down skirts we loved for SS15 - which now come in suede - there's also polka dot blouses, slogan sweaters and tees, as well as statement embroidered coats. Of course, there is some denim in the mix - it wouldn't be an Alexa-inspired line otherwise, now would it? We have our hearts set on the longsleeve Western style jumpsuit.
As for the vision for the new collection, AG reveals it was "inspired by an imaginary—and impeccably dressed—girl gang kicking up dust in the desert, the new collection boasts an expanded variety of separates in elevated materials, perfect for building the day to- night wardrobe." Sounds like a girl gang we definitely want to be part of.
Meanwhile, Alexa explains: “It’s an evolution. The first collection was very focused and stripped back, I challenged myself to create an essential denim wardrobe. With the second collection it was more about exploring where else we could take it.”
Alexa Chung for AG launches in stores on 23 July from stockists including Trilogy Stores and Stylebop. We predict a sell-out.
