Just last month we saw Lidl release their brand new clothing range designed by Heidi Klum, and hot on their heels is Aldi with their latest budget collection for this season. The discount supermarket first unveiled a women’s clothing range last year and have since expanded to menswear, children’s clothes and even items fit for your gym kit.
The latest collection was launched in-store and online on Sunday, and each item is under £20, making it more affordable than Klum’s range in Lidl.

Aldi are channelling all the autumnal vibes in this new collection, which upsets me as I’m still in denial that summer is over and am definitely not ready for layers or chunky knits.
With that said, the dreaded annual search for a suitable winter coat needn’t be so difficult if you pop into Aldi. Their Ladies’ Padded Jacket is only £19.99 and comes in black or plum. It features a classic winter staple - the faux fur hood trim – and the hood itself is detachable, which basically means you’ve copped two coats for the price of one.
The Ladies’ Textured Dress is a bargain at £9.99 but reminiscent of those optical illusion dresses that hit the high street a good 5 years ago. 2012 was the year to don a bodycon dress with black panels down the side in a bid to make yourself appear two sizes smaller, and it looks like Aldi are bringing it back. Although a worn-out style it makes for a fab new work dress and at less than a tenner, you can’t really go wrong.
You can’t really cover autumn clothing without a pair of Chelsea boots. Aldi have released two pairs, a low heel and a mid-heel, which are both a beigey-brown type colour. Chelsea boots make a comeback each year and as Aldi are only charging £14.99, you can even afford to grab yourself both pairs.
Heidi Klum’s collection at Lidl is full of modern prints and shapes, which I expected to see within this new, rival range. Although Aldi’s Autumn collection is rather bland in comparison, it’s much more wearable and ridiculously affordable. On top of their new collection, they’ve also extended their beauty range and introduced cheap Halloween costumes. Let’s hope Aldi will look to keep their affordable prices but follow in Lidl’s celebrity designer footsteps. Aldi x VB? Watch this space.
