It's happened, it's officially a bit too cold to wear a jacket and almost too nippy to go out bare-legged (as in, you can just about do it, but you're also tempted to stop shaving your legs for a bit, for the extra warmth). Which means winter coat season is here. But don't feel sad that summer's over - here are eight ways to wear your new (or old) winter coat courtesy of these lovely ladies of Instagram.

A cocoon coat ticks both essential boxes when it comes to outerwear (comfort and style.) So it’s a win/win situation, really. This one isn’t too pricey, and will stay in style year on year.

Thanks to fluff-loving brand Shrimps, faux fur is having a serious moment this season. If it’s good enough for Alexa and co, it’s good enough for us. We’ve got our eye on this pink number.

Sure there’s a Lady in Red reference to be made here but we don’t actually know the song and can’t be bothered to google it. Just buy the coat.

While we’ve firmly accepted we aren’t going to look as cool standing on street corners as this girl, we are definitely still going to copy her coat. This one looks ridiculously comfy.

Ella looks pretty banging in this shearling coat from Coach but it’s £1,900 and unfortunately we need to house and feed ourselves. This ASOS alternative is still a splurge but we’re considering cutting down to one meal a day in order to finance it.
Peony Lim
There’s nothing better than a trench coat for when you want to feel all classy and stuff but you equally don’t want to get absolutely soaked. We want to buy this one and pretend we’re Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
