Festival Season. The time of year when us brits refuse to let the unpredictable English weather stop us from wearing our teeniest tiniest hotpants and naïve optimism clouds our judgement in our decision to leave coats, hoodies and umbrellas behind. This year, in an attempt to take a stand against the generic denim cut-off and crop-top combo, we stalked Instagram to bring you original festival outfit inspiration. Still wildly inappropriate for a typically British summer down poor, but at least you’ll look great in the photos you take before it rains.

We have to admit that the LBD was not always first on our festival packing list, but @meganellaby proves it definitely should be. The frilled sleeves make it less Posh Spice and more festival friendly, with the pink Converse adding a little hint of colour.

Channel Seventies vibes with printed culottes, bell sleeves and retro sunglasses.
3. @sophiehannahrichardson
Discover your inner alien/mermaid/disco-ball with blue lips, glittery make-up and a metallic jacket.

Boho style has always been a festival favourite. This year try a floor length, paisley print gown with black trainers for a different take on the look.

If the weather looks like it might be on the warmer side, or even if it doesn’t, think colourful crochet tops paired with baggy mum jeans.

Equally, pink floral co-ords teamed with black accessories would look great in the sunshine. Maybe save this look for festivals further afield, where the chance of ending up knee-deep in a pool of mud and empty beer bottles is less likely.

These culottes are great way to get in your dose of festival denim in cooler climates. Plus, can you ever go wrong with a bomber jacket?
