So it is technically spring, but it only feels a teeny-weeny bit warmer. So while you want to start channelling spring-chic, its important to stay warm and cosy at the same time. Shivering isn’t ideal, nor was it a thing at any of the ss16 fashion weeks.
How about this for genius – wearing your best spring-esque assemble BUT simply draping a coat over your shoulders. Wear it with confidence and people won’t dispute it, infact they will most-likely presume that you are a fashion editor of a posh magazine.
Here are some great examples in case you get stuck.
1) Chloe Helen Miles
Tonal dressing at its finest. Match your outfit to the colour of your coat, for an outfit that looks very put together. A hack worth remembering for if you wake up late and have a not-so forgiving boss.
2) Asos Isabella
Yep, you can still wear your fur coat, hallelujah. Just team with sunnies to make your outfit more spring-friendly… even if there is no actual sign of the sun, boo.
3) Laurajanethc
Wide-leg striped trousers and white brougues are hella cool right now. Keep your coat undone, so your entire outfit is still on show. Hey, why spend £30 on a shirt if you are gonna keep it hidden?
4) Pinkoturkey
Okay so this one is not a coat coat, but it is two jackets which = a coat? Anything goes in fashion maths. This head-to-toe matchy matchy assemble of light blue is so cutesy, yet so ‘don’t look at me I’m v. important’ all at the same time.
5) Linh Niller Huynh
Confession. I hate using the word 'chic' and every time I do (note: the top paragraph) I cringe. I would even go so far as die a little inside. However, there is no other adjectives to describe this outfit as than chic. Effortlessly fucking CHIC. (Ow, my soul).
