Same old jeans, shiny new look. Debrief partnership with Tu.

Finding the perfect pair of jeans can be a bit of a mission, so we reckon it’s perfectly justifiable that we never want to take ours off.

Luckily for us, the style gods have got our back. With the ‘90s trend still in full swing this season, there’s really no need to ditch the denim – it’s just a case of packing away that cold shoulder top you lived in all summer and swapping in a few autumnal updates.

Need a bit of inspo? No problem. We’ve teamed up with Tu and scrolled through the feeds of our fave street style stars, picking out 5 of the simplest – not to mention most Insta-worthy – ways to raise your denim game. Read on (and let the likes roll in)…

Add an ankle boot

Alright, we know… boots for Autumn? To paraphrase our Netflix guilty pleasure – not exactly groundbreaking. However, this season we’re shelving the classic black boots/black tights combo in favour of some straight leg denim and a sassy burgundy pair, as seen on some of the coolest girls this fashion month.

Be a trail blazer

A simple black blazer is one of those pieces that you always read about in fashion mags, but somehow feels a bit difficult to get right (at least without going full on formal). Now this Stockholm girl gang are showing us how easy it is to style for everyday, layering theirs over a simple tee and patchwork denim. Talk about squad goals.

Tuck in a turtleneck

There’s no denying the chill in the air, but it doesn’t have to mean saying goodbye to your skinnies. A black roll-neck is a modern classic and will bring even the summeriest of staples firmly into the new season. Channel this lady’s look and tuck yours into high waisted jeans for maximum cosiness, not to mention maximum style points.

Enter the fray

Blame the Vetements step hem trend, but raw edged denim is still going strong this AW16. If you’re yet to grab the scissors, trust us when we say there’s never been a better time (or better way to show of those boots). Scared to put your everyday pair under the knife? There’s loads of pre-frayed options at Tu too. We won’t tell if you don’t.

Look out for layers

It’s not just our legs that can’t get enough of the blue stuff, but our jacket collection too. A shearling collar is a cold-proof way to work the look all year round and will look just as good paired with winter florals (also now a fashion thing, FYI) as cosy knits. We’re a big fan of a contrasting bright rollneck.
