As British summer continues to be a wipe-out (like, how many times do we need to take our umbrellas to work?), you’re probably looking forward to your getaway more than ever. If you’re the envy of the office and hopping off to Greece – a longtime favourite of those in the know - but aren’t sure what to cram into your suitcase, then fear not – we’ve enlisted the help of five stylish Greek ladies to help you on your quest. Panic over. Whether you’re heading to party island of Mykonos in the Aegean Islands or will be gazing at the crystalline waters as you’re knocking back the cocktails on the island of Kefalonia, your holiday wardrobe is sorted. No more drama. You heard us. Now here’s the Greek ladies you need to be coveting.

1. All You Need Is Style

All-You-Need-Is-Style

Say yassou (that’ll be hello in Greek, consider us your go-to for all your Greek fashion and phrasebook needs, or maybe not) to Filio Metsi, the 30-year-old blogger behind All You Need Is Style. Splitting her time between Athens and LA (naturally) Metsi’s blog covers off everything from fashion and beauty to fitness and shopping. Wander through her Instagram account and you can see she loves throwing on a kaftan, kimino or loose shirt – a look that can easily take her from shopping those cute alleys to heading to a banging bar on one of the more hedonistic islands.

Want to emulate her style? Accessorise. 'I'm a big fan of straw bags and this year I'm really into the micro trend - the smaller the better,' she says. 'Those little wooden baskets are so cute!' Another piece of advice – ditch that heavy jewellery. 'Instead, opt for those traditional, beaded or embroidered options you'll find at the local shops, ankle bracelets, cuffs or thread earrings, all of which will last for summers to come.' You heard her. No rocking Pat Butcher earrings.

2. TypeMyStyle.com

Based in Athens, 38-year-old beauty editor Korina Vrousia has been blogging at typemystyle.com for the past five years. She’s a big fan of throwing on a simple, handmade, white kaftan and acccessorising with a colourful, handcrafted beach bag or a straw hat. Chunky wedges can often play a strong part in her style but so too can bare feet – well, she isn’t too far away from a sun kissed beach, is she?

A social media manager for two Greek brands and a TV hostess for a lifestyle show, Vrousia says her ultimate getaway wardrobe for visiting Greece includes donning 'gladiator sandals by Valia Gabriel, a super cool beach towel, small flashes of colour and a fashion -forward one piece swimsuit.' But also on her checklist, according to her Instagram account, is a very cute dog – Vrousia is often seen hanging out with her Westie, Lucy. Erm, maybe don’t try getting through security with that.

3. Fashionizein

Theano Lazaridou, 32, kicked off her blog Fashionizein, almost two years ago and has seen her following grow massively, with her Instagram account alone attracting 25,000 followers. Based in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, the 32-year-old blogger is a big fan of adding pops of colour and bags of fun to her look. She isn’t afraid of combining different styles, whether that’s teaming a blue and white polka dot skirt with a checked red and white shirt or just going for bold out-there designs. Lazaridou recommends packing a little white dress in your suitcase this summer. 'You can combine it with everything,' she says. 'I’d totally wear it with fun, colorful accessories.' She also has a strong footwear trend at the ready. 'Flatforms - in a rose gold hue if you ask me - are going to be your best friend while you are strolling around in Santorini, Mykonos or Syros! Believe me!' You heard the girl, now go find some.

4. Charlotte’s Lookbook

Charlotte's Lookbook, aka fashion design graduate Charlotte Nikitopoulos only started her blogging career two years ago but has accumulated an eye-popping 157,000 Instagram followers. She’s a big fan of 'chic street style', donning clothes that can easily go from day to night. Whether it’s ripped trousers, a straw hat or a wide-legged jumpsuit, Nikitopoulos loves to mix up a bit of white and black – either separately or for a strong monochrome look. Her style tip for your Greek getaway? Remember to take your romper. 'Its’ been around for some time now but it is still a very favorite clothing item for every fashionista. The romper is so versatile, as you can wear it as day wear with flat sandals, espadrilles or a pair of sneakers and for a night out, just add a necklace and a pair of statement heels to the romper. It is also so easy to wear and therefore perfect for the laid back summer days.'

She also suggests making room for your maxi dress. 'The easiest and most versatile form of clothing from the beach to the street. Who need a kaftan or cover-up when you have a light maxi-dress? It always looks so easy breezy. Maxi-dresses made of jersey fabrics and cotton are great for this weather. Replace the flat sandals with a pair of wedges when you want to look a bit more polished when going out for lunch.' No snakeskin high heels for this one.

5. Lovefashion.gr

Athens-born Eirini Kalkounou of lovefashion.gr loves to go for the boho look, and is often captured rocking an off the shoulder white embroided top, which she often teams with denim shorts or colourful trousers. Heading to Mykonos this summer? Kalkounou says: 'As it’s a party island, wear bright and fun clothes such as backless dresses, wide-patterned pants, crop tops, boho kaftans, floppy hats, sandals and big sunglasses. You can also wear flash tattoos and lots of boho necklaces and earrings.' If you’re heading to her favourite island, Santorini, she suggests making a beeline for the romantic boho style. 'Corals, whites and blues are on the top of your clothing palette,' she says. 'Ethereal skirts and dresses, lots of lace, stripes, floppy hats and an intense Riviera mood. Say a big no to high heels and prefer gladiator sandals in metallic tones for your walks.'

Bye-bye you English rose and yassou (yes, you remembered) as you channel your inner Greek goddess. Now bring us some sun back. Please. We beg you.
