Lineisy Montero Is Top Of Models To Watch List This Fashion Month

Not heard of Lineisy Montero? Well if you've looked at any Instagrams or show pictures from fashion month, chances are you will have seen her face.

Lineisy is a strong contender for most miles walked at Fashion Week, walking an epic 23 shows in New York including Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Givenchy, Coach and many, many more.

Montoro made her fashion week debut only last season, walking at Prada no less, then went onto star in their Autumn Winter 2015 campaign. Quite the introduction to the fashion world, especially given that a black model hadn't fronted a Prada campaign for 19 years, until Malaika Firth's campaign.

After only six months of modelling she has landed a T_een Vogue_ cover named as one of fashion's new faces and walked for the likes of Celine and Givenchy.

When the Dominican beauty, 19, walked at Prada pictures of her and her afro went viral. Traditionally black models have had their hair straightened for the shows, so it was an important progression in the beauty industry.

The president of her agency Next Models said to style.com of the significance of her look: “I think Lineisy represents something completely new to what is in the beauty conversation in fashion at the current moment. I do feel that Lineisy’s appearance with natural hair on the Prada runway is important. It speaks to the range in beauty and the importance of embracing one’s own natural beauty.”
