Want To Get Noticed At London Fashion Week? Street Style Bloggers Teach Us How

Want to know what it takes to catch the eye of one LFW’s coolest fashion photographers? Lizzy Dening catches up with four street style bloggers to find out.

**Charlotte Hole - Crave Green Velvet **

Despite being more comfortable behind the lens, it’s clear from her eye-popping coat, folky patchwork bag and super-chic victory rolls that Charlotte knows a thing or two about style. A Fashion Week newbie, she’s cutting her blogging teeth by photographing anyone in bright colours, or with bold prints – and, not surprising given the name of her website, she’s just crazy about anything velvet. As we speak, she glances enviously over my shoulder at a girl’s velvet embellished bomber jacket, jiggling her trigger finger over the camera.

What about the people she’d avoid? “I’m not big on heels – apart from anything else, it’s just too cold during February Fashion Week, and it looks a bit try-hard.” So there you have it – the perfect justification for comfy flats all week long.

Tendai is about as cool as you need to be to work a Renaissance artwork-printed hoody with aplomb. He’s more interested in capturing the hidden moments of LFW, so if you want to get snapped by him, it’s no good posing up a storm outside Somerset House – subtlety is key. “I’m looking for intimate moments, involving cool people just going about their business,” he explains. Clothes-wise, it’s about originality: “I like it when I see someone doing something new; when I think ‘Oh, I haven’t seen those two things put together before,” so be brave when it comes to pattern/texture clashing, and let your outfit rather than your posing do the talking.

Is there anything more adorable than a husband and wife blogging/photography team? If there is, then I’m not interested.

Lisa, who picked out fellow photographer Charlotte as the day’s strongest look, has her eyes peeled for anything which stands out and the wearer’s personality. “It could be someone covered in piercings, tattoos and chains, or someone in a big, high-waisted skirt with victory rolls. As long as it shows who they are. I love it when people mix up vintage and tribal styles too.” As for those people who are standing behind us in OTT get-ups: “The people who try too hard do get attention, but it’s so obviously forced that it doesn’t interest me.”
