****Fleur de Force is a woman to be reckoned with. With over a million subscribers on YouTube, some of the most-watched tutorials of all time and supermodel Lily Aldridge in one of her videos (!!), Fleur has a devoted fanbase and an authorative voice on beauty.
Fleur's now taking her empire even further with the launch of a new makeup range on FeelUnique.com - products she chose and curated herself to fill gaps in her makeup bag. We spoke to her about her beauty must-haves and how the collaboration came about...
Grazia Daily: What inspired you to create your makeup range?
Fleur: "It's really a dream come true for me. Being a life-long makeup enthusiast, I've always wanted the opportunity to create my own collection. The product line-up itself has been created to fill that space of my ultimate 'dream' products that I can never find in the shops, both in terms of colour and formulation."
GD: How did you select the products?
Fleur: "I tested the products myself, and tweaked the formulations to get my perfect textures. For the lipglosses, I wanted to create an opaque colour without having that heavy liquid lipstick texture that is really common at the moment. The texture is creamy and opaque, but still feels light on the lips. It's not too sticky but has just the right amount to ensure they last for a long time. I didn't want to make too many shades, so I chose six universally flattering colours that together make the perfect 'lip wardrobe' for every occasion."
GD: What are three makeup products you can’t be without?
Fleur: "Mascara, concealer and lipgloss."
GD: Do you have any cool, niche beauty brands you love?
Fluer: "There's a really cool nail stamping brand called Moyou that I've recently discovered. It sounds crazy and difficult to do, but it's actually really cool."
GD: Tell us about some beauty mistakes from your past
Fleur: "I went through a phase of wearing really pale metallic pink cream eyeshadow everyday when I was 13. Not a good look! Oh and there was also the time where I used to think using YSL Touche Eclat all over your face instead of foundation looked great... it didn't."
GD: What’s your favourite smell?
Fleur: "I'm really fickle with perfume and my favourites change all the time. At the moment it's Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt, I find it quite a calming scent to wear. I love the smell of an english country garden in the summer... cut grass, roses and a charcoal BBQ - great combination!"
GD: What music do you listen to when you’re getting ready to go out?
Fleur: "Usually Taylor Swift!"
GD: What does your perfect night in look like?
Fleur: "Cuddling on the sofa with my dogs, husband and a great film (or Game of Thrones!) "
GD: How do you balance running your blog (and brand!) with the rest of your life?
Fleur: "With great difficulty! I think you just have to take each day as it comes and enjoy the ride! I never really have a full day off, but I love my job so that's OK!"
GD: What’s your top tip for getting ahead?
Fleur: "Work hard and keep re-setting new goals once you've achieved old ones. Always look for what's next."
GD: What do you wish you could tell your teenage self?
Fleur: "Stop caring what people think of you! Oh, and spend less time with boys and more time with your friends."
