EXCLUSIVE: Naomi Campbell Talks Burberry At The W Magazine

After almost fifteen years, Naomi Campbell is back as the beautiful face of Burberry, alongside fellow Brit model Jourdan Dunn, so we were excited to bump into her at the swanky W Magazine x Burberry Dinner Party last week.

NYC’s finest came together to celebrate British artist Ed Atkins and his work in the New Museum. The glamorous dinner at the Lafayette restaurant in New York was hosted by La Campbell herself, as well as Lisa Phillips, Director of the New Museum and W Magazine Editor in Chief Stefano Tonchi.

Over a glass of champers,* Grazia Daily* took the chance to talk all things Burbs with the superduper model...

Grazia Daily: How did it feel to host the W Dinner with Lisa Phillips and Stefano Tonchi?

Naomi Campbell: It was a great honour to host the dinner with Lisa and Stefano and the rest of the Burberry and W magazine teams. We had a lot of fun and I had a lot of inspiring and interesting conversations. It was a very nice evening.

****Grazia Daily: **Can you talk us through your look of the evening?

Naomi Campbell: I love the outfit I wore to the dinner. I wore one of Burberry’s embroidered mirrored dresses, similar to the one I wore at the LA show in April. It’s long and flowy; it’s comfortable and relaxed while also being elegant. I topped it with the Burberry fringe leather jacket, which is one of my favorite pieces at the moment! I feel like Stevie Nix wearing a leather jacket with fringe. I love the look of a long dress with boots and a leather jacket.

****Grazia Daily: **What’s your favourite Burberry piece that you’ve ever worn?

Naomi Campbell: It’s hard to choose just one, but I really love the Burberry dress I wore to the MET Gala this year. It was a beautiful custom-made dress. It was just beautifully intricate.

****Grazia Daily: **What kind of art do you like? And how closely linked do you think fashion and art are?

**Naomi Campbell: I really like impressionist paintings. I love the reflection of light and the use of color. Monet is one of my favorites. I think art and fashion go hand in hand. They’re inspiring, one to another.
