In the latest update to the consciously-uncoupled-but-still-spending-a-lot-of-time-with-each-other-what-the-hell-is-going-on-guys saga, Chris Martin has opened up about life with estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow. During an interview with Valentine in the Morning, the Coldplay frontman revealed he's at peace following the couple's decision to end their 11-year marriage, noting that there's nothing much else to say about it.
Speaking on the radio show, Chris said: "The truth is... well, I don't really love talking about this stuff. But the thing we told everyone at the beginning of the year is true. We are very close. We are not together. But we're, you know, that's the truth and that's it. There's a lot of love. No scandal, I'm afraid. I wish I could give you scandal."
The former couple, who announced they were "consciously uncoupling" in March, have remained amicable since the split and have regularly been spotted dining together with their children Apple, 10, and Moses, 9. However, Chris previously suggested that his "issues" were partly to blame for the breakdown of his marriage.
The 37-year-old said: "About two years ago I was a mess really because I can't enjoy the thing that we are good at and I can't enjoy the great things around me because I'm burdened by this ? I've got to not blame anyone else and make some changes."
Gwyneth & Chris: a timeline
** October 2002:** Gwyneth Paltrow meets Chris Martin backstage at a Coldplay gig three weeks after the death of her father, Bruce Paltrow.
December 2003: The couple marry in secret in Mexico.
May 2004: Gwyneth gives birth to a daughter and they name her Apple Blythe Alison Martin. 'It sounded so sweet and it conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet and they're wholesome and it's biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and … clean!' the actress told Oprah of the name choice.
April 2006: They welcome a baby boy and call him Moses Bruce Anthony Martin. Gwyneth explains her son's first name came from a song titled "Moses" that her husband wrote for her before their wedding.
May 2003: The pair prove their joint love for yoga by going to a class together in New York.
June 2008: Chris Martin opens up to Rolling Stone about his marriage. 'Think of Romeo and Juliet. I always felt it would be great to be with a very powerful woman because it would keep you in your place. Being married to someone very successful and very powerful basically keeps you hungry to improve. You've got to be hungry. If your wife went out with Brad Pitt, you'd want to prove yourself, you know what I mean?'

September 2011: While promoting Contagion at the Venice Film Festival, Gwyneth talks about extra-marital affairs. ‘I am a great romantic – but I also think you can be a romantic and a realist. Life is complicated and long and I know people that I respect and admire and look up to who have had extra-marital affairs. It’s like we’re flawed – we’re human beings and sometimes you make choices that other people are going to judge. That’s their problem but I think that the more I live my life, the more I learn not to judge people for what they do. I think we’re all trying our best but life is complicated.’
May 2013: Gwyneth admits that it's hard being married. 'You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We're the same as any couple. I asked my dad once, 'How did you and Mum stay married for 33 years?' And he said, 'Well, we never wanted to get divorced at the same time'. And I think that's what happens."
September 2013: Rumours begin swirling that Vanity Fair is planning to publish a "takedown" piece about the 41-year-old actress, allegedly accusing her of having an affair with supermodel Elle MacPherson's billionaire husband Jeff Soffer. Editor Graydon Carter later claims the piece had been overblown and decided not to publish it because he thought the final product wouldn't live up to the hype.
October 2013: The family move from London to Los Angeles.
December 2013: The pair celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary.
January 2014: Gwynnie and Chris look loved up at the 3rd Annual Sean Penn & Friends 'HELP HAITI HOME' Gala.
January 2014: Just days later, the couple make another rare public outing together and giggle together in the audience at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles.
