The sun is beaming in through floor-to-ceiling windows, shining for Francisco Costa, whose reinvention of the iconic Calvin Klein slip dresses (think Kate Moss circa 1994) last season proved to be so spot on.

But here, less light, more dark: black suits, oversized, braces hanging low from beneath boxy suit jackets, hair tucked in.

Straps and harnesses, fastened as belts, across the torso, at the nape of the back. Bags are scrunched and held at the side. Wide set white pinstripes sit against the black like a tailor's chalk lines, and then laundry bag check, a line of dresses. Are these slices of stone? Inset into the black, following the line of the dress, mirror bright in the sun...
