And, while we're on hair accessories, we also have an exclusive Q&A with Sam McKnight. Sam is the go-to hairstylist at every top Fashion Week show, and regularly collaborates with brands like Chanel, Fendi to create styles for their shows and ad campaigns. He gave us the skinny on this season's hottest looks...
Why do you think the hair accessory played such a prevalent role on the A/W catwalks?
"Hair accessories are becoming much more a key accessory. With some of the opulent designs of the AW 2015 hair accessories, they either embellished a simple look, or juxtaposed with natural hair."
**How were hair accessories used this time around – is it an easier, more whimsical look? **
"It has become almost the modern hat. Head accessories without making a huge statement."
**Why are hair accessories so transformative? **
"They can take a simple hairstyle and give it drama. Accessories can lift a an outfit - just add a jewelled comb to a chic messy topknot. Instant glamour, a perfect finish."
** Which were you favourite runway incarnations? **
"The simple wide ribbon is always chic as seen at Chanel, and leather bands at Fendi."
**What is the style/accessory we should all try right now? **
"Matte barrettes like the matt black ones at Fendi. Try a slim matte barrette in a colour matching your hair."
