There's no doubt Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw is a style icon. From strings of pearls for bed, impossibly impractical shoes and her obsession with bird-based fashion, the woman can dress. The latest celeb to borrow a style tip from Bradshaw? Another New Yorker, Emily Ratajkowski, who stepped out yesterday wearing a black and white dress reminiscent of Bradshaw's iconic Galliano for Dior newspaper-print dress worn in Sex and the City - a dress which was plucked straight from the autumn/winter '00s show and became a classic in '00s pop culture.
Ratajkowski's version, however, comes with a much lower price-tag than Bradshaw's (thousands, if you were wondering) and is designed by a fashion-editor favourite, Miaou. Even better, it's still available to buy so act fast as this is set to sell out quick.
Dig a little deeper into the outfit and we've found that EmRata and Sarah Jessica Parker's character arcs are more similar than you'd think. The episode in which Bradshaw's newspaper-print dress appears, entitled 'What Goes Around Comes Around', sees Carrie breaking up with Big (once again) and entering into a reflective state of mind, wondering how to have it all but ultimately live her best life in the city. Could this potentially be another similarity between Carrie and EmRata, whose post-breakup energy should be celebrated?
