It sounds like even if she wasn’t hosting the most glamourous show on British television, you’d probably still findTess Daly{
‘As long as I’ve been allowed to dress myself independently, I’ve been a magpie for sparkles and shine,’ the Strictly Come Dancing host tells Grazia. ‘My friend used to tease me that I’d never knowingly be seen without a gold accessory. Party season is my dream time.’
On the show, Tess will often be found wearing designer gowns - sometimes on loan to the BBC - but she still adores shopping from the high street for party wear.
‘I love the Great British High Street,’ the presenter enthuses. ‘It’s like Disneyland for my sister who lives in New Zealand. You can’t beat the shopping!' Here, the fashion lover shows us some of her favourite looks for party season. (And we now have some serious shopping to do.)
Tess Daly's Christmas Wardrobe Picks
Rixo, Sequin Stripe Dress, £335
'I think Rixo are a great British company, and they're perfect for the party season. They've got this gorgeous pink sequin dress - it's long sleeved, but the dress itself is quite short.'
Reiss, Satin Pearl Biker Jacket, £250
'I think Reiss are brilliant, they have some beautiful blazers. I was in there the other day and I saw a gold jacket, it was a very pale gold. And it was so beautiful, because, if you're in my world, gold is sort of neutral. It's gonna look great if you throw it on with a pair of jeans and heels, when it's put on over a little black dress or maybe a long flared white pant.'
HARMUR, Open Back Gold Halterneck Top, £215
'I went to Net A Porter and treated myself to a little gift from me, I think it's always worth buying yourself one treat. I've got dark circles under my eyes from online shopping! And I bought myself a black and gold halter neck top. I think that'll look good with black trousers.'
Nadine Merabi, Mini Dress, £295
'One thing I have in mind when it comes to dressing is that the dress cannot be wearing me, I've got to be comfortable wearing it, especially when I work - because I'll often be found running around in heels. For me, this was the perfect party frock. I got a message from Kylie Minogue! We have a friend in common, and he said that it was her favourite dress as well.'
Sandro, Mini Dress, £40
'But, also, one of my favourite dresses this season my stylist found at TK Maxx. It was under £40 - I love a bargain!'
