Samantha Cameron has revealed that she brought two dresses - one for each outcome of the Brexit vote - but that she actually wore the wrong one on her final day at No. 10 Downing Street.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar for its September issue, the wife of former Prime Minister David Cameron explained that she had originally chosen the 'upbeat' navy and orange design by Roksanda Ilincic - a Serbian designer based in London - in anticipation of a Remain win.

Yet she decided to wear it anyway for her final day as Prime Minister's wife, telling the magazine: 'I’d actually bought it for winning the election because it was upbeat, along with another for losing, but I ended up wearing the wrong one.'

Of course, Cameron's choice of dress is hardly surprising considering her husband and his team were hopeful of a Remain victory: nothing says Europe more than wearing a dress by a successful immigrant designer. Indeed, the fashion industry was one of the most vocal pro-Remain communities in the run up to the vote.

One thing we can't help but wonder though - what was her sobre, Brexit dress? Did she stick to a British-born designer for that? Was it funeral black? We guess we'll never know.
