As if we needed another excuse to buy more dresses from ASOS...

It wasn’t long ago that the internet was in a flurry about the £35 ASOS Maternity dress Meghan Markle wore in New Zealand, and now another royal has been seen wearing a dress from the online retailer.

Queen Letizia of Spain wore a pale pink £75 ASOS DESIGN floral dress with embroidery to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife wife Peng Liyuan as they start their two-day visit.

She wore a AW17 Carolina Herrera brushed wool coat, a pair of £122 earrings which are still available on Spanish brand Coolook’s website, a bespoke Magrit clutch bag and custom shoes by the same brand. The dress is of course out of stock, but with such an interest in the item, ASOS might see fit to bring it back soon.

Queen Letizia used the ASOS dress to break up a series of designer outfits she’s been wearing in the past few days, including pieces by Spanish fashion designer Felipe Varela.

We’ve long called Queen Letizia Spain’s answer to Kate Middleton because of her impressive collection of gowns, coats and off-duty denim.
