For several weeks prior to jetting off for our annual get-away, we fret over what to pack. Do we really need five pairs of shoes for a seven-day holiday? Well, maybe. And seven bikinis is totally acceptable, right? It's fairly obvious that we require one for each day…
But the pre-holiday sartorial stress doesn’t stop there. Once we’re all packed up, the biggest question of all arises. What do we wear to travel in? With 90 percent of our wardrobe now neatly stowed away in our suitcase, there is limited choice available. And sitting/attempting to sleep on the plane requires some serious outfit planning.
And this season, designer Olivia Von Halle has answered our fashion prayers. Let us introduce you to the Missy tracksuit. The concept was born after the designer struggled to find a look which would carry her from a campaign shoot in Moscow to a press dinner in New York.
“We have taken the humble pyjama and turned it into a beautiful, aspirational piece,” Olivia explained. “With the Missy, we undertook the same challenge for the tracksuit; to elevate it, absolutely reinvent it. It took two years to perfect and getting the cut right was key - it had to look really oversized and cool but chic.”
And it's no surprising that the cult item soon garnered A-list status. Models of the moment Gigi Hadid and sister Bella have donned the tracksuit in recent months while blogger Camille Charrière undoubtedly put athleisure on the Insta-map.
And now it can be yours to own.
Shop the tracksuit online and in-store at Harrods, Net-A-Porter and Olivia Von Halle.
