Naturally, weddings mean the mingling of friends, family and colleagues. But, when you’re royal and the guestlist stretches to some 850 people the mix includes some of the most glamorous people in the world.
At Jack Brooksbank and Princess Eugenie’s nuptials today it was tricky to figure out who the most high-profile couple was. Could it be Prince Harry and Meghan? Perhaps Prince William and Kate? Maybe Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh? But, in our eyes surely it was Kate Moss and her daughter Lila Grace Moss Hack.
These days a Moss sighting is pretty rare. Since she’s rumoured to have given up alcohol her party lifestyle has slowed down, and with that, her most frequently photographed opportunities have abruptly ended too. But, today, in front of the world’s press she strode into St George’s Chapel in a polka skirt suit alongside her 16-year-old daughter who was wearing a blush maxi dress with black suede block heals.
Keeping up with the trends is de rigueur for Mossy and she tapped into two key looks for next spring with this single outfit. With polka dots on the agenda for this winter, they burgeon into a bigger trend next year when they morph into Dalmatian dots and giant spots, as seen at Max Mara, Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana. Seamlessly she also nodded to the incoming net trend, which took flight on springs catwalks. At Saint Laurent, Erdem, Simone Rocha and Ryan Lo this rather old-fashioned accessory was imbued with new life. In the hands of Kate Moss, we’re convinced we’ll be wearing this come spring.
