The annual Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards took place yesterday evening at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Now in its thirteenth year, the star-studded event was held in partnership with jewellery brand, Swarovski.
And understandably, the fashion affair invited the likes of models of the moment Gigi and Bella Hadid, 'It' girl band Haim and A-list names such as Nicole Kidman and Diane Kruger, to celebrate the biggest fashion achievements of the year.
Raf Simons took home the prize for Menswear Designer last night, for his work for recently re-branded Calvin Klein. While Stuart Vevers, won the award for Accessory Designer of the year, beating the likes of nominees Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen who founded The Row back in 2006.
And of course, when one of the most highly anticipated events in the fashion calendar takes place, the 'It' crowd must make sure to don their finest attire.
Gigi Hadid
We have to admit, we were surprised by Gigi's sartorial choice last night. The model of the moment channelled a minimal aesthetic, which we rarely see from the 22-year-old. Dressed in a floor-skimming cream coat and dress by The Row, the model clearly thought carefully about who would be in attendance.
Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen
Fashion's favourite twins have made a comeback. Their Met Gala 2017 look met mixed reviews but last night's get-up was undoubtedly award-winning. The Olsens stuck to what know best and opted for a minimal aesthetic in monochrome tones. Love.
Haim
One of our favourite girl bands rocked up to the awards ceremony looking as great as anticipated. The sisters opted for Diane Von Furstenberg stripes and white ankle boots. It's safe to say, we cannot get enough.
Bella Hadid
Bella has a knack for referencing the eighties and nineties through sartorial means. And last night, she didn't disappoint. The model chose a blazer dress in fuchsia pink and accessorised the look with strappy heels and a juxtaposing blush pink clutch.
